On Thursday at 4 PM, Missouri University of Science and Technology will officially dedicate its new 50,000-square-foot Innovation Lab. Located at 650 Tim Bradley Way on the S&T campus, this is the first new building on campus to align with the vision of the Kummer Institute for student innovation and entrepreneurship.

Fred and June Kummer established the Kummer Institute after a generous $300 million gift in 2020. Fred, a civil engineering graduate of S&T, wanted to ensure that students were prepared to succeed as entrepreneurs and innovators in our increasingly technology-driven global economy. The Innovation Lab serves as the gateway to S&T’s Arrival District and features maker spaces, modular classrooms, collaborative labs, and a central atrium designed to foster a hands-on learning environment and inspire students to think creatively and push the boundaries of innovation.

This state-of-the-art facility is meant to inspire possibility thinkers, discoverers, and trailblazers as they work to create solutions to the challenges of the future. With a focus on hands-on learning and collaboration, the Innovation Lab aims to empower students to become the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators who will shape the future of technology and industry.
