In the southern regions of Ukraine, Russia carried out a night attack on energy infrastructure in Odessa and Mykolaiv. The attack involved a wave of drones, with 12 being shot down over Mykolaiv Oblast and another two being shot down over Odessa Oblast. Russian forces also targeted Odessa with missiles, damaging critical infrastructure and a transportation company, injuring two employees and one person.

The State Emergency Service reported that firefighters put out a fire at a power plant in the Mykolaiv district and another fire in the coastal settlement of Ochakiv, where downed drones had caused a fire in an area measuring about 200 meters square. Additionally, Russian special services agents arrested an agent of the Security Service of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia who was allegedly planning a terrorist attack against Russian military personnel. The arrest was made after finding 3 TNT bombs and components for an incendiary mixture during a search of the suspect’s home.

The attacks on the southern regions of Ukraine have caused significant damage to infrastructure and raised concerns about ongoing conflict in the area. Local authorities are working to assess the extent of the damage and ensure the safety and security of residents in affected areas.
