The Chicago Blackhawks are excited to announce their first-ever local animated game in partnership with NBC Sports Chicago and the NHL. This innovative collaboration aims to introduce Blackhawks fandom to the youngest generation and connect with families in a meaningful way.
NBC Sports Chicago will produce an interactive and entertaining experience for fans of all ages using prominent broadcast talent such as Chris Vosters as play-by-play announcer, Dominic Moore providing in-game analysis, and Adam Burish and Tony Granato hosting studio coverage during intermissions.
John Schippman, VP of Sports Content at NBCUniversal Local Chicago, expressed his excitement about producing this first-ever local animated pro game telecast. The use of NHL EDGE positional data and Hawk-Eye Innovations optical tracking will bring the action on the ice to life in real-time, allowing viewers to see Blackhawks mascot Tommy Hawk and other characters interacting in a fun environment set against the backdrop of the United Center.
In addition to the animated presentation, NBC Sports Chicago will also air the traditional game telecast with WGN Radio 720’s John Wiedeman on play-by-play duty and expert game analysis provided by Darren Pang. This dual approach will cater to a wide range of fans, ensuring an engaging and entertaining viewing experience for all.
