On April 25, a minor was sexually assaulted at the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) in Chicago. The Chicago Police Department issued a community alert for the 3rd District regarding the incident, which occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the museum located at 5700 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive. According to the police report, the minor was separated from her group when the offender approached her and offered help.

The offender then took the minor to the second floor of MSI where she requested to use the restroom. While in the restroom, the offender entered the stall and touched her inappropriately before fleeing when she kicked at him. Described as a male between 30 to 40 years old and 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-3 in height, with a light complexion, medium build, curly light brown hair, colored eyes, a beard, and a tattoo of a roaring lion on his neck, he was wearing a light blue shirt, blue vest, blue jeans, and black gym shoes at the time of the incident.

A spokesperson for MSI expressed concern for visitor safety and assured cooperation with the Chicago Police Department during their investigation into this matter. Visitors are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or incidents they may witness while visiting MSI to ensure their own safety and that of others around them.
