The Wagner family has owned a property near Jordan on Highway 169 for the past 45 years, and over time they have focused on selling apples, pumpkins, squash, and candy. With 19 additions to the building, the property is known as “Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store,” spanning 27,000 square feet under one roof. However, owner Robert Wagner has bigger aspirations. He plans to rebuild the store two-and-a-half times bigger due to outgrowing its current size.

The new store will be located across Highway 169 near Jordan Supper Club as the current location faces highway construction with plans for an overpass that would cut off access to the store. Losing highway access would impact impulse customers, so Wagner is set to move the store to a new location in a land swap agreement with Scott County. The old store site will be used for the new overpass, while the new store is scheduled to open in 2027 and the current store will close in 2026.

There are still some uncertainties around the project, but Wagner believes in the agreements in place and is determined to make the new store a success. With plans to become the world’s largest candy store, he is confident that they will maintain their title of “Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store” while also claiming a new one.

The store is expected to reopen for the season on May 1 at its current location and move to its new site near Jordan Supper Club in the near future.
