In a blow to the Mets bullpen, lefty Brooks Raley has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to left elbow inflammation. The team is now without a key piece of their relief corps as they look to keep up with their divisional rivals.

Raley has had an impressive season thus far, posting eight scoreless appearances and allowing just two hits in 7.0 innings pitched. He has also struck out nine batters and walked three. Most recently, he recorded two outs against the Dodgers, including a strikeout of Shohei Ohtani.

The Mets will need to find someone to step up and fill Raley’s spot in the bullpen if they want to maintain their success this season. With his absence, the team will lose an important contributor to their relief corps, making it even more crucial for other players to step up and take on additional responsibilities.
