The City of Kyle, Texas is eager to break the Guinness World Record for the largest same-name gathering with their official “Gathering of the Kyles” event. Last year, the city attracted an impressive 1,490 people named Kyle to the event. This year’s record attempt will take place on May 18 at 1 p.m. as part of the Kyle Fair.

The current record for the largest same-name gathering (first name only) was set in July 2017, when 2,325 people named Ivan attended an official record attempt in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The City of Austin, Texas tried to break the record in February with the “Ryan Rodeo”, but unfortunately their attempt fell short of taking the title.

As participants gather together for an official count at this year’s Gathering of the Kyles event, they hope to surpass the current record and cement their place in Guinness World Records history. The event promises to be a fun and exciting way for people with the same name to come together for a memorable experience. So if you are named Kyle or know someone who is, mark your calendars for May 18th and head out to Kyle Fair!
