In Ironton, Ohio, small businesses are being given an opportunity to receive grant money from the city’s economic development fund. The goal of this program is to support business growth and cover the costs of capital improvements.

The city’s mayor, Sam Cramblit, stated that the funds allocated to this economic development fund come solely from hotel tax revenues generated by stays at the city’s two hotels. If a business is awarded a portion of this grant money and uses it according to the specified guidelines, they will not be required to repay the funds to the city.

Many businesses are interested in applying for this grant money. Daly Malone of Kouns Korner expressed excitement about using the grant for various improvements like expanding kitchen space, adding parking, and increasing seating capacity due to rapid business growth.

Interested businesses can access the grant application online on the city’s website or download and submit it in person at the mayor’s office. The application deadline is set for noon on Friday, June 14th. This initiative aims to support small businesses and enhance economic development in Ironton.
