SABIC Fujian Petrochemicals has recently awarded KBR a contract to license its phenol technology in China. The project, which was announced in January 2024, will involve providing technology licensing and engineering design for a phenol plant with a capacity of 250,000 tons per year at SABIC’s Fujian Petrochemical Complex. The contract is expected to be completed by 2026.

Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, expressed excitement about the opportunity to collaborate with SABIC Fujian on this project in China. He highlighted the company’s commitment to offering industry-leading technology that enhances customers’ competitiveness and sustainability goals through improved efficiency, reliability, wastewater recovery, and performance.
