The Jets have improved their defense significantly by acquiring All-Pro edge rusher Haason Reddick in a trade with the Eagles, as reported by multiple sources. In exchange for Reddick, the Jets are sending a conditional 2026 third-round pick to Philadelphia.

At 29 years old, Reddick is joining the Jets in the final year of his contract with a value of $15.5 million. It is anticipated that he will sign a new contract with the Jets, although the details have not been finalized yet. The Jets are expected to take on $14.5 million of the contract, with the Eagles covering a $1 million roster bonus that was due earlier in the month.

Reddick will help fill a gap in the Jets’ defense that was left by Bryce Huff, who coincidentally signed with the Eagles as a free agent. The new Jets pass rusher has achieved double-digit sacks in each of the last four seasons, including 11 sacks in the previous year. Additionally, he has recorded 13 tackles for a loss and 23 QB hits. With Reddick on board, the Jets’ defense is expected to be even stronger and more formidable this upcoming season.
