Ithaca College recently hosted its 30th Educational Technology Day on Thursday, March 21. The event, which took place at the Campus Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., attracted educators, students, and technology enthusiasts alike. This year’s Ed Tech Day showcased the latest in office, classroom, and consumer technology with a focus on integrating innovative tools into education and academic pursuits.

The event featured a roster of esteemed presenters, including experts from the FBI, NYSERNet, and leading technology firms, who covered a wide range of topics such as security in higher education, AI trends, esports, classroom technology, and data analytics. Attendees had the opportunity to attend informative seminars and explore vendor booths to learn about local technology applications in teaching and research.

Dave Weil, Vice President and CIO of Ithaca College’s Information Technology and Analytics division, emphasized the technological advancements showcased at Ed Tech Day over the years, from Bluetooth to VOIP and flash drives. He highlighted the event as a key platform for unveiling future technological developments in higher education, attracting a diverse audience from across upstate New York and beyond. Registration was available both online and at the door, welcoming anyone interested in technology not just educators.
