A non-profit organization based in Oklahoma has joined forces with other groups to bring mental health and substance abuse resources to communities in northeast Oklahoma. The initiative, called the Hope on Wheels bus tour, was created in response to feedback from people in rural areas who expressed a need for more support options.

Organizations such as Grand Mental Health, Stonegate Center, and the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services have partnered with Parents Helping Parents, Inc. to visit 7 towns in the region. During the stops on the bus tour, individuals can learn about the variety of resources available in their area related to mental health and substance abuse. The goal is to raise awareness among community members who may not be familiar with all the support options that exist.

The bus tour marks the first time that Parents Helping Parents, Inc. has organized a event of this kind. The focus is on informing residents about nearby resources, even if they are not located in their immediate community. By spreading awareness, the group aims to ensure that individuals have access to the help they need, even if it requires traveling to a neighboring town.

The bus tour is set to take place on April 18 and 19, with stops scheduled in Sapulpa, Bartlesville, Nowata, Claremore, Wagoner, Muskogee
