Individuals have the right to access their medical records and request changes under the Health Insurance Portability and Security Act (HIPAA). One convenient way to do this is through the MyWellSpan portal, which allows users to manage their health information and care from a computer, tablet, or smartphone at any time.

To access your medical record through MyWellSpan, log in to your account and navigate to the Sharing section. From there, you can request your medical records by providing the necessary information. If you are unable to use the online portal, you can also fill out a paper form, the Authorization to Use or Disclose Health Information, available in multiple languages.

If you need to make changes to your medical record, the MyWellSpan portal also provides an easy way to submit a request. Simply access the Document Center, click on Requested Records & Record Amendments, and complete the Request for Amendment Form. Alternatively, you can fill out the Patient Requested Amendment Form and mail it to WellSpan Health.

For specific situations such as requesting medical records for a deceased loved one or making other types of requests under the 21st Century Cures Act, there are additional forms available. These forms should be completed accordingly as they can be used for various purposes related to accessing electronic health information.

Overall, individuals have more control over their medical records than ever before thanks to HIPAA regulations and technology such as MyWellSpan portals.
