A science fair was held at SOAR Academy in Martinez, California for the first time. The event was organized by homeschool moms Megan Berry and Amber Baxley with the support of Madeline Gregory, the office manager at SOAR Academy. The goal of the science fair was to provide homeschooled children with a traditional school experience and to promote a love for science. More than a dozen homeschoolers participated in the event, showcasing a wide range of projects that intrigued visitors.

One of the winners was eighth-grader Jacob Lott who expressed his excitement over the event, noting that he was pleasantly surprised to win. Jenny Jewett, another parent whose son Silas also won at the science fair, expressed her pride in her child’s success and appreciation for the new resource. The event was well-received by both participants and visitors, prompting plans for larger participation and volunteer involvement in future editions.

The science fair featured interactive elements such as various animals that participants were able to interact with, adding a hands-on element to their educational experience. The organizers hope that this sustained interest in science among homeschool students will continue to grow in future editions of the event.
