Nguyen Tien Cuong and Nguyen Hong Viet, descendants of Pham Quang Xuan, the “King of Tire Sandals,” have taken over the family business and transformed it into a global sensation. Initially, tire sandal making was a low-income profession that led most workers to abandon it. However, Mr. Xuan continued to improve upon his designs at his home in Hanoi, and his legacy has been passed down to his son-in-law and grandson.

The tire sandals are made from recycled materials but aim to provide comfort, lightness, and avoid turning the feet black. EVA technology has been incorporated into the design to make the sandals lightweight, anti-slip, and suitable for long walks. Different raw materials are selected based on the style of the sandals to ensure quality and durability.

The “King of Tire Sandals” brand is now registered for protection to guarantee authenticity and quality for customers. The sandals are priced between 250,000 – 450,000 VND per pair and have been sold in 60 countries worldwide. The brand’s popularity has skyrocketed, attracting tourists and customers from around the globe.

Nguyen Tien Cuong and Nguyen Hong Viet hope to continue growing their brand by offering visitors an opportunity to experience making these legendary sandals themselves. They believe that hands-on experience will help visitors understand the significance behind these sandals as they have become a symbol of Vietnamese craftsmanship recognized globally.
