On Friday, Fairmont played a nonconference baseball game against Esko at Herb Wolf Field. Despite a strong effort, Fairmont ultimately lost the game with a final score of 4-2.

In the first inning, Fairmont’s Merritt Pomerenke scored two runs for the Cardinals, giving them an early lead over Esko. However, Esko quickly rallied back in the third inning, scoring three runs to take a 4-2 advantage.

Levi Pooley and Joey Crissinger were the standout hitters for Fairmont, each collecting two hits in the game. Nate Soelter started on the mound for Fairmont, giving up eight hits and four walks for six earned runs in 5 1/3 innings while striking out five.
