Since the start of the war in Israel, Eran, a non-profit organization offering anonymous emotional and psychological support, has experienced a significant increase in the number of people seeking assistance. The demand for psychological support has particularly risen among men, military personnel, and adolescents.

In just six months, Eran has received 172 thousand calls from individuals seeking help for both psychological issues and advice on accessing support in their local area. In April 5th, the organization released a report outlining its activities over the past six months.

Compared to the six months before the war, calls related to anxiety, trauma, and loss spiked by 950% during the conflict. The number of calls regarding depression, mental health issues, and loneliness also rose significantly.

Eran has received 38,240 calls from teenagers and young people under 24 years old since the war started. Of those seeking help, 60% were girls and 40% were boys. About a third of calls were related to anxiety and stress while every fifth call centered on psychological problems, depression and mental health disorders.

Eran’s call center and website have been overwhelmed with requests for assistance from those affected by the conflict. Despite men typically being less likely to seek emotional support, an increase in calls from this group was seen during wartime. Additionally, calls from teenagers in need of help surged by 125%, highlighting the critical role that Eran plays in providing support to those most vulnerable during times of crisis.

Overall, Eran’s services have proven essential for providing vital emotional and psychological support to those affected by Israel’s conflict with its neighbors.

With Israel facing threats from all sides it is crucial that organizations like Eran are there to provide critical emotional and psychological support to those who need it most during these trying times.

It is clear that organizations such as Eran play an important role in ensuring that individuals receive timely access to emotional and psychological care when they need it most.
