Italy and Armenia recently held defense consultations in Rome from March 19-20. The Armenian delegation, led by Levon Ayvazyan, discussed the progress and prospects of bilateral cooperation with high-ranking representatives of the Italian Ministry of Defense and General Staff. Ayvazyan presented the security situation around Armenia and ongoing reforms in the Armed Forces. As a result, they signed an annual program of military cooperation and reached agreements.
In November of last year, the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Italy visited Armenia to discuss future cooperation with the RA Defense Minister and the head of the General Staff. These consultations have strengthened the partnership between the two countries in the defense sector.
