With the deadline for India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad fast approaching, there is growing speculation about who will be included in the prestigious tournament that begins on June 2. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has only a few days left to finalize the final 15 players for the squad.

Former cricketers have been sharing their opinions on who should be selected for the upcoming tournament. Irfan Pathan suggests that India should include five strong bowlers in their team, with two wrist spinners like Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav. He emphasizes the importance of fielding skills and believes that Jasprit Bumrah is a must-have in the team.

According to PTI sources, most of the team has already been decided, and there are only a few positions left to finalize. The selectors and team managers are evaluating the fitness of Hardik Pandya for bowling and discussing the potential selection of Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul.

There are expectations that Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul will be chosen as wicketkeepers for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 squad, with Shivam Dube also likely to be included. A BCCI selection committee source indicated that these players are on the radar for selection.

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma are expected to have an informal discussion in Delhi about the final 15-person team for the T20 World Cup in the Americas. The official announcement is anticipated to take place in Mumbai on May 1, which is also the ICC deadline for such announcements.
