In the city of Córdoba, Argentina, a tragic incident has left the community shaken. A 13-year-old boy named Togo Ismael crawled into a freezer late one evening and tragically froze to death. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear, with some speculating that he may have been participating in a social media challenge, while others believe he simply wanted to cool off due to the extreme heat in the city, which was over 40 degrees Celsius at the time.

Togo’s mother, Belén, expressed her disbelief and sorrow over the incident. She stated that her son had returned home from playing football and gone to sleep in his room. Belén and her mother were awoken by the heat and mosquitoes, only to find that the freezer, which was supposed to be out of order, had been turned on and Togo was inside, foaming at the mouth and blue. Belén believes that her son may have wanted to cool off in the freezer after taking a shower and may have suffered an electric shock.

Emergency services arrived promptly but unfortunately it was too late to save him. Tragically, Togo’s great-grandmother upon hearing of his death suffered a heart attack and passed away as well. The community is mourning the loss of two lives in this heartbreaking incident.

The circumstances surrounding Togo’s death are a sobering reminder of the dangers of social media challenges and staying safe especially in extreme weather conditions. The community of Córdoba is grieving for Togo Ismael’s family who lost him tragically and mourning for their impact on society as well
