Corey Anderson, a former player for New Zealand in both the ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup, has been named in the USA squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Ali Khan and Shayan Jahangir have also been included in the squad, while Gajanand Singh and Usman Rafiq have been left out.
Ali Khan is known for his experience in T20 leagues around the world, having played in various leagues but limited T20I experience. Shayan Jahangir began his cricket career in Pakistan and has represented USA in ODIs before. Milind Kumar, a former Delhi batter and top run-scorer in India’s Ranji Trophy, is also part of the squad.
Monank Patel and Aaron Jones have been retained as captain and vice-captain, respectively, after leading the team to a series win against Canada. The squad will kick off the tournament with a match against Canada in Dallas on June 1.
