In a recent meeting in Doha, the head of Hamas Politburo, Ismail Haniyya, met with Wang Keijian, the head of the Western Asia and North Africa Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. The Chinese Ambassador to Qatar, Cao Xiaolin, also participated in the discussion.

During their talks, the focus was on finding ways to end hostilities in Gaza and provide immediate humanitarian aid to the area. Haniyya expressed his gratitude for China’s support in delivering aid to Gaza and highlighted China’s role in the UN and International Court of Justice. He emphasized that it is urgent to stop violence in the region and work together to address its challenges.

Wang Keijian acknowledged the historical ties between China and Palestine and reiterated China’s commitment to supporting Palestine’s quest for freedom and independence. He emphasized that Hamas is an integral part of Palestinian national identity.

The meeting underscored ongoing collaboration between Hamas and China in addressing Gaza’s challenges. This dialogue reflects a shared commitment by both parties to promoting peace and stability in the region. By leveraging their respective strengths, Hamas and China aim to address Gaza’s humanitarian crisis and advance Palestine’s cause on an international stage.
