A 14-year-old child who consumed Bang bread in Dong Nai was hospitalized with Salmonella bacteria in their stool sample. The child experienced fever, diarrhea with green stools, and was later transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment. After being diagnosed with a bacterial intestinal infection, the child was prescribed antibiotics and supportive medications, resulting in improvements in their symptoms.

Salmonella is a common cause of diarrhea worldwide and can lead to serious complications if not treated promptly. The bacteria enter the body through contaminated food and water, producing toxins that damage the intestines and cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. In severe cases, Salmonella can lead to dehydration, low blood pressure, multi-organ failure, and even death. The bacteria can also enter the bloodstream, causing life-threatening sepsis.

Salmonella thrives in hot and humid environments and can be spread through improper food handling practices, such as not cleaning meat and poultry properly. Consuming raw or undercooked eggs, as well as contaminated vegetables and milk, can also result in Salmonella infection.
