On a typical day, the 3.14 Pi Bar in Colorado Springs is bustling with customers eager to indulge in their favorite pies. However, on March 14th, the busiest day of the year for the bar, the weather was not on their side. Despite the snow and frigid temperatures, co-owner Becca Boudreaux was determined to make it a special day for pie lovers.

For weeks leading up to March 14th, Boudreaux and her team were busy baking pies of all shapes and sizes in preparation for the holiday. They knew that customers would be eager to celebrate this unique and fun holiday with their favorite treats. And they were right – despite the weather, they saw about half the usual customers that day, but those who did show up were loyal pie fans.

One customer, Katy Presnell, had been looking forward to celebrating Pi Day with her family for months. Her son’s birthday falls on March 14th, so it was a special tradition for them. The snow didn’t deter them from enjoying their favorite pies on this special day – they simply bundled up and made their way to the bar.
