Royal Caribbean’s newest and largest cruise ships, Icon of the Seas and Wonder of the Seas, offer a unique experience for guests looking to stay in balcony staterooms. While both ships offer stunning views of the sea from the privacy of one’s own cabin, there are significant differences between the two that can affect a guest’s overall experience.

One such difference is the price. Staterooms with balconies on Icon cost $900 per person per day, while those on Wonder of the Seas cost $770 per person per day – a $130 difference. However, it was not just the price that stood out to me; it was also the functionality and comfort of each cabin.

The pricier cabin on Icon looked more modern and sleek than Wonder but lacked certain features that made it less comfortable to stay in for an extended period. On the other hand, Wonder’s balcony stateroom had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay at sea. The beds were more comfortable, and there were plenty of storage spaces for luggage and personal belongings. Additionally, Wonder’s cabin had more space overall compared to Icon’s cabin.

In conclusion, while staying in a balcony stateroom can be an excellent way to enjoy the sea breeze while cruising with Royal Caribbean, it is essential to do your research before booking your room. While some cabins may be more expensive or look more modern, they may not always provide guests with the best experience at sea. By carefully considering their needs and preferences, guests can find the perfect cabin that suits them best while cruising with Royal Caribbean.
