In February 2023, the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) announced that TAS Asset Holdings, also known as Noble Road Company, would be surrendering its medical and adult-use processor licenses. This decision was made after an investigation revealed that the business had been mixing legal and illicit products for the retail market. The CRA signed a consent order and stipulation with TAS, who have been closed since then.

The investigation found that TAS had combined illicit marijuana products with regulated marijuana products before selling them under the brand Fwaygo Extracts, specifically their product Space Rocks. This product was manufactured between November 10 and November 17, 2022. Video surveillance footage showed employees bringing unregulated products into the business from their personal vehicles.

A representative from TAS admitted that their signature product, Space Rocks, was produced using untagged THCa powder. The CRA issued formal complaints alleging 23 regulatory violations against each of TAS Asset Holdings’ processor licenses. The agency determined that the safety and health of patrons and employees were jeopardized by TAS’ actions, leading to emergency action being required to suspend their licenses.

In conclusion, TAS Asset Holdings’ actions have put consumers at risk due to the use of untagged THCa powder in their signature product Space Rocks. It is important for cannabis businesses to follow regulations and ensure that their products are safe for consumption. The CRA will continue to monitor cannabis businesses in Michigan and take action when necessary to protect public health and safety.
