The Phoenix Suns are in talks to sign point guard Isaiah Thomas for the remainder of the season, following his second 10-day contract. This was first reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania on Monday. Thomas originally signed with the Suns on March 20, returning to the team where he had previously played during the 2014-15 season. He made an NBA comeback by playing in his first game since the 2021-22 season on March 20, after completing four games with the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars.

During his time with the Suns, the 35-year-old has played in four out of the 10 games, scoring five points and providing two assists in 14 minutes. Head coach Frank Vogel had stated when Thomas was initially signed that he would not be in the rotation when the team is healthy, but would serve as additional depth in case of injuries or foul trouble. Thomas was confident in his scoring ability and also looked to be a positive influence in the locker room, drawing on his 11 years of experience in the league, including playoff experience.
