A safety accident that occurred on an American Airlines flight last month was caused by a brake anomaly. The National Transportation Safety Board conducted a preliminary investigation and found that the flexible hydraulic lines in the braking system were not properly connected, leading to the automatic brakes switching on and off immediately after landing. The pilot had to manually use the pedals and reverse the thrusters to slow down the engine.

The incident, which took place on a flight from Washington, DC to Dallas, resulted in the plane rolling off the runway during landing. However, there were no injuries reported among the 104 passengers onboard. The Federal safety officials launched a prompt investigation into the incident and found that the plane had undergone a brake replacement just four days before it happened.

American Airlines assured that passenger and crew member safety is their top priority and are fully cooperating with the investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board. The Boeing 737-823 model involved in this incident was manufactured in 2009 and is an earlier version of the 737. This incident adds to a series of frightening aviation safety incidents that have recently occurred, including missing panels and tires falling off midair on United Airlines flights.
