Mr. Khuong, a 42-year-old man, experienced dizziness and tinnitus, leading to the discovery of four tumors in his brain and spine. These tumors posed a risk of compression and damage to healthy brain and spinal tissues, necessitating timely treatment.

Dr. Chu Tan Si, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, explained that Mr. Khuong had a complex case of intramedullary meningioma requiring surgical intervention. The medical team planned meticulously to prioritize the removal of the most critical tumors before addressing others to ensure the patient’s safety and optimal recovery.

The medical team utilized advanced technologies such as the Modus V Synaptive robot and Keyhole brain surgery technique to successfully perform three tumor removal surgeries on Mr. Khuong’s brain and spine. These procedures helped preserve his neurological function and promote a speedy recovery.

Following the surgeries, Mr. Khuong showed significant improvement in his health and was able to resume normal activities. Additional treatment including radiotherapy was recommended to eliminate any remaining tumor cells and prevent new tumors from developing. Further investigations including molecular biology testing were advised to assess the risk of genetic mutations and provide appropriate guidance for the patient’s future health.
