Efforts have been made in the last 50 years to address the challenges faced by plants and animals worldwide, including those resulting from human activities such as invasive species, pollution, and climate change. Initiatives like those in Gorongosa National Park offer hopeful stories of wildlife recovery, which are crucial for both the wildlife and the surrounding community.

However, there are still challenges to be addressed when it comes to global biodiversity conservation. Various international bodies, including IPBES, the United Nations Biodiversity Conference (COP 15), and CITES, focus on biodiversity conservation. However, these organizations do not always integrate each country’s individual conservation plans. This raises questions about how they collaborate and the challenges of working as an international community to protect global biodiversity.
