Josef Fritzl’s lawyer, Astrid Wagner, has been making headlines for her revealing photos on social media. Wagner recently took revealing pictures of herself while hiking in Puchberg, Lower Austria, including one at a fountain and another of her naked back against the Alpine panorama. She expressed confusion over the excitement surrounding her naked pictures, saying that it was normal for her and reflects the spirit of the 1968 generation.
Wagner is known for representing high-profile clients in court and has a history of putting herself in the spotlight. She has represented notorious criminals such as the “goulash murderer” Alfred Ulrich and the “Ice Lady” man-killer Goidsargi Estibaliz Carranza Zabala. Wagner has sparked controversy in the past with candid recordings that show a lot of skin, leading to reports to the bar association in 2015.
Despite claiming she had no ulterior motives for her revealing photos, Wagner now sees them as a political statement in support of women’s freedom. She believes that society has become more prudish and that women are being expected to hide their bodies. Wagner describes herself as a freedom fighter and has been visiting Josef Fritzl in prison monthly since he wrote to her in June 2022. She published a book with Fritzl, “The Abyss of Josef F.”
