According to reports from the Keshet TV channel and Mako website, Hezbollah, a Lebanese Shiite group, has rejected the French initiative that included 12 points, including a proposal to move the Raduan unit 10 km away from the border with Israel. The rejection was communicated in writing to intermediaries. Hezbollah argued that the Raduan unit comprises residents of villages in southern Lebanon and it would be impossible to prohibit them from being in the area.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz met with his French counterpart Stéphane Sejournet on April 30 to discuss the Paris initiative and expressed doubts about its viability. Katz believed that de-escalating tensions in the region required addressing Iran rather than focusing solely on Hezbollah and Lebanon. Defense Minister Yoav Galant, during a visit to northern Israel on May 8, emphasized the need for preparation for a potentially challenging summer. He warned that upcoming months could be tumultuous in the region.
