Arglass and Zippe are joining forces to construct a second plant in Valdosta, USA. The project is set for installation in December 2024 and will be commissioned in the second quarter of 2025. This partnership is focused on enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability through the use of advanced technology.

At the core of this collaboration lies Zippe’s batch plant, which has been designed specifically to meet the needs of modern glass production. With a daily capacity of 495 tons for the second furnace, the system is optimized for handling raw materials, pre-mixing, and batch transport processes.

The modular design of Zippe’s batch plant allows it to seamlessly integrate into Arglass’s existing infrastructure with minimal downtime during installation and commissioning phases. Key features include mechanical raw material feeding mechanisms like truck and train unloading systems equipped with vibratory tray feeders and elevators. The silo system can store up to 10 raw materials, with the largest silo having a volume of 500m3.

Moreover, Arglass is emphasizing sustainability by implementing a cullet return system that supports four IS machines. The system includes scraping conveyors, crushers, falling tubes, and conveyor belts to facilitate efficient recycling of glass cullet. Additionally, Zippe’s intelligent scraping conveyor control system will optimize conveyor speed based on gob weight and quantity, reducing wear and energy consumption.

Overall, this partnership between Arglass and Zippe will bring together advanced technology with sustainable practices to improve operational efficiency while reducing environmental impact in the glass production industry.
