Andrew Luck stepped away from the game in 2019, but on Friday night he returned to his hometown of Indianapolis for a cancer fundraiser organized by former Colts head coach Chuck Pagano. Luck took the opportunity to reflect on his time leading the team to four playoff appearances and an AFC title game.

Luck called Indianapolis “a massive part of the fabric of who I am and where life has gone.” He spoke openly about his love for the city, saying that he feels a sense of pride in everything that he accomplished during his time with the Colts.

Despite not winning multiple Super Bowls, Luck felt that he and his teammates gave their best effort and that they were able to give fans something to cheer about and be proud of. Luck said that he “reintegrate” football into his life as a volunteer coach at Palo Alto High School, explaining that it’s his turn to give back to the game that gave him so much before injuries became too much for him to handle.
