Sam Mayer came close to winning the Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway, but Aric Almirola ultimately emerged victorious after an overtime restart. Almirola led for 148 of the 251 laps and took home the $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus as well. Chandler Smith finished third after starting 37th, while Carson Kvapil placed fourth in his Xfinity debut. Justin Allgaier rounded out the top five.

Almirola’s strong performance was marked by a notable third-place finish by Josh Williams with Kaulig Racing. However, Brandon Jones had a tough night after missing a shift on a restart that caused a pile-up and took out several drivers. Despite this, it was still a strong night for JRMotorsports, with three drivers finishing in the top five.

The next race in the series will take place at Texas Motor Speedway on April 13, and the Dash 4 Cash drivers eligible for a $100,000 bonus include Mayer, Smith, Allgaier, and Creed. Almirola won the first stage while Allgaier took the second stage in a race that saw several noteworthy performances.
