The Iraqi Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, has announced the official launch of the electrical interconnection line with Jordan. This significant achievement is the result of diligent efforts and follow-ups, and Fadel expressed his excitement for the launch after a period of waiting and anticipation.

The electrical connection between Iraq and Jordan will provide many benefits, including electricity to Al-Rutba district after a decade of struggle due to damage caused by terrorist groups following the invasion of the governorate in 2014. Fadel commended the efforts of the Central Region Energy Transmission Lines Company for their dedication in making this project a success.

The electrical connection line spans 330 km within Iraqi territory and 6 km within Jordanian territory, with a voltage of 132 KV. The initial power supply through the transmission line will be around 40 megawatts, increasing to 150 megawatts in the second phase upon completion of the line up to the 400 KV Al-Qaim station. Future results are expected to reach 500 megawatts to provide electricity to a large portion of Anbar Governorate.

Overall, this significant achievement represents a commitment by the Iraqi government to improving infrastructure and providing vital services to citizens.
