A significant cocaine discovery has been reported at Lidl stores in Brandenburg and Berlin. According to the customs investigation office, a total of 223 kilograms of cocaine was found hidden in banana boxes across eleven Lidl branches. The estimated value of the cocaine is between 10 to 15 million euros, based on a gram price of 50 to 80 euros.

The police in Brandenburg have declined to disclose any figures regarding the discovery, but the spokesperson for the Brandenburg police headquarters mentioned that cocaine in the “low three-digit kilogram range” was found. However, no exact amount or locations where the drugs were discovered were specified. The cocaine is set to be destroyed on Friday.

A joint investigation group comprising of state criminal investigation offices from Brandenburg and Berlin, as well as the customs investigation office, is actively working on the case.
