The upcoming 2024 FIDE World Chess Championship Match will crown the next two-year chess world champion, with current champion Ding Liren from China facing off against the youngest challenger in chess history, Gukesh D from India. Scheduled between November 20 and December 15, the World Championship Match 2024 is open for bids to host the event.

The regulations for the event must be approved by July 1, 2024, with a total duration of up to 25 days. The minimum required budget for the event is 8,500,000 USD, with a minimum prize fund of 2,500,000 USD. Interested applicants must submit a bidding form detailing the budget breakdown and proposals for payment to FIDE by May 31, 2024.

FIDE reserves the right to extend the deadline if necessary and may enter into additional negotiations to improve or modify the bid. The final decision by FIDE will be based on all proposed conditions and the interests of chess development.
