The Women in Technology Conference held at Saint Hubert Catholic High School for Girls in Holmesburg, Philadelphia, on April 25 was a daylong symposium that coincided with International Girls in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Day. This year’s theme for Girls in ICT Day was Leadership.
The conference featured various speakers, including Jeanine Heck, Senior Vice President of Comcast Corporation, who served as the keynote speaker. Students from Saint Hubert’s Technology Club, along with students from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Hunting Park and young women from Archbishop Ryan High School in Northeast Philadelphia, all participated in the conference. Throughout the day, students engaged in activities such as coding with Artificial Intelligence and had the opportunity for mentoring sessions with female leaders from local corporations.
Girls in ICT Day is a project led by Cisco Networking Academy, a program focused on providing IT skills for jobs that has impacted over 20.5 million learners globally. Students took part in a panel discussion moderated by Jennifer Palloni, Regional Sales Manager at Cisco.
