The VinFuture 2024 Awards has received a record-breaking number of registration applications, with a total of 1,469 applications. This is more than double the amount of applications received in the previous year. The topics covered in these applications ranged from essential fields such as health, environment, and artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
Medicine and healthcare accounted for 36.3% of the applications, while sustainable energy made up 24.6%. Other topics included environment and climate change (15.2%), AI applications in various sectors (13.8%), and agriculture (10.1%).
The organizers of VinFuture have commented that many nominations are focused on pioneering new fields such as discovering and designing new drugs using AI, developing solutions to combat climate change, and exploring new energy sources. Some authors also proposed ideas for building economical smart agricultural systems and researching new materials, equipment, and processes for everyday life activities.
In its first year, VinFuture had 599 nominations, which increased to 970 in the second season and 1,389 in the third season. For season four, the number of international scientists who are official nomination partners has reached 9,101 – an increase of more than 70% compared to the previous season. These nominated partners come from various regions around the world, with a significant percentage from the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
The participation of leading scientists and experts in the VinFuture Awards has helped improve the quality of nominated works. The VinFuture Award aims to honor worthy works that contribute to promoting breakthrough scientific and technological initiatives globally. The Preliminary Round of the 2024 VinFuture Award will take place from June 1 to August 31, with impressive works advancing to the final round based on strict evaluation criteria.
