In a recent announcement, UVA Health, a prominent healthcare provider based in Charlottesville, Virginia, revealed its plans to acquire Piedmont Family Practice in Warrenton, Virginia. The two parties have reached an agreement on the purchase sale and expect the transaction to be completed by the summer, as per a news release issued on May 7.

Piedmont Family Practice is home to a team of 90 employees, including seven physicians, 17 advanced practice providers, a registered dietitian, and a certified diabetic educator. Upon completion of the acquisition, all current employees at the practice will remain under UVA Health ownership.

The practice offers three core clinical services: Piedmont Family Practice provides general health services such as COVID-19 testing and lab testing; Piedmont Urgent Care offers general urgent-care services; and The Bariatric and Metabolic Weight Loss Center offers weight maintenance programs, weight loss services such as non-surgical weight loss and mental health services.

This acquisition marks a strategic move by UVA Health to expand its healthcare offerings and solidify its presence in the Virginia healthcare landscape.
