The University of Utah is set to host its 155th general commencement on Thursday, May 2. During the ceremony, a total of 118 current or former Utah student-athletes will be recognized and receive their degrees. These graduates have earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in various sports programs at the university.
Utah’s student-athletes have a long history of academic success, with a 94-percent figure in the most recent NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) Report released in December 2023. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Utah’s score has been 93 percent or higher, placing the university second in the Pac-12 conference behind Stanford.
The student-athletes who will be receiving their degrees come from a variety of sports programs at the university, including baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, cross country, track & field, football, golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, skiing, soccer, softball, men’s swimming & diving, women’s swimming & diving, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, beach volleyball and volleyball. This achievement highlights the dedication and hard work of these student-athletes both in their athletic pursuits and academic endeavors.
