A new solidarity flotilla is being prepared to sail from Turkey to the Gaza Strip, with participants from various countries represented among the 75 people on board. These activists include intellectuals, journalists, former politicians, doctors, former military officers, and lawyers from countries like Turkey, Cuba, South Africa, the USA, Great Britain and more.

Organizers of the flotilla include 77-year-old Anne Wright, Aleida Guevara, daughter of Ernesto Che Guevara and Zvevelilili “Mandla” Mandela, grandson of Nelson Mandela. Despite multiple delays due to negotiations between Israel and Ankara through mediators to prevent its arrival, the launch of the flotilla is imminent. The participants are carrying 5,500 tons of humanitarian aid equivalent to 100 trucks to help those in need in Gaza.

Discussions are underway for a plan where the humanitarian aid will be unloaded in Egypt’s El-Arish port and delivered to Gaza after inspection. The flotilla consists of three ships including a cargo ship with humanitarian aid and two passenger ships. Participants are rehearsing their actions in case the flotilla is intercepted and preparing for possible scenarios where they may not be allowed to sail from Turkey or be seized by Israel in international waters.

Pro-Palestinian activists remain determined to deliver aid to Gaza despite potential obstacles and show their commitment to supporting those in need in the region.
