The Masters at Augusta National is predicted to have a challenging start on Thursday, with the latest forecast indicating a 90% chance of precipitation and gusts up to 45 mph from thunderstorms. These conditions are expected to roll in early in the morning, bringing with them 1 to 1½ inches of rainfall.
Once the cold front passes, the rest of the week looks promising for the tournament. Sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70s are expected, along with moderate winds. While Friday may see gusts of up to 30 mph, overall the weather is expected to be favorable for the tournament.
Last year’s severe weather disrupted the schedule of the tournament for the first time since 2019. The event had to have an early, split-tee start to the final round due to unfavorable conditions. The second round was suspended twice, with pine trees falling near the 17th tee during one of the delays. Another delay on Saturday caused the third round to spill over into Sunday morning. Despite these challenges, however, last year’s Masters concluded by Sunday evening.
