On May 14th at 6:00 p.m., Umpqua Community College will host a Science Celebration Night event to announce a scholarship program supporting industrial science careers. This exciting opportunity is open to high school and college students who are interested in pursuing careers in engineering, chemistry, biology, physics, or computer science.

The “Oregon Pathways to Industrial Research Careers” program is a collaboration between UCC and the University of Oregon with backing from the National Science Foundation. The event will take place in the Health, Nursing and Science Center at Umpqua Community College and will be completely free.

During the celebration, attendees will have the chance to interact with faculty from both institutions as well as hear from current participants and new scholars who are transitioning to the university level. They will also learn about the benefits of this pathway and how it can lead to fulfilling industrial research careers.
