On Monday, April 22, the Southeast Community College will be hosting a Family Science Night to celebrate Earth Day. This exciting event will take place at the Career Academy Synergy Space on the Lincoln Campus, located at 8800 O St. from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Organized and run by SCC science faculty, STEM Club, STEAM Team, and other volunteers from the campus, Family Science Night is designed for elementary-aged children to enjoy a range of hands-on science activities. Some of the planned activities include exploring geology with bug fossils, conducting a penny water surface tension experiment, making Earth Day bird feeders, investigating the science of popcorn and engaging in nanoscience activities.
In addition to interactive science activities, attendees can enjoy free pizza and prizes. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase from the Sweet Treats Food Truck and Traveling Tom’s Coffee Truck during the event. It’s advised to act quickly as there are only 100 tickets available for this unique and educational experience.
