An investigation has uncovered that embryos were taken from women with hemophilia in Georgia and transferred to women in Israel. Despite evidence of genetic carriers for the disease being known by clinic staff in both countries, embryos were still sent to Israel and implanted in Israeli patients. The Ministry of Health has taken immediate action by halting the import of eggs and fertilized eggs from the implicated unit, while IVF unit managers in Israel have been instructed to identify women who received eggs from this clinic so they can be informed of potential risks and make an informed decision regarding their use. The suspects involved in the case are currently being interrogated and will appear in court for a hearing at the Peace Court in Tel Aviv. Their detention may be extended based on investigative needs. The Ministry of Health and authorities are working together to address this situation and ensure the safety and well-being of those affected by these actions.
