Uncovering Sex Trafficking: A Look into the Elegant Spa Investigation

In October 2023, an investigation into potential sex trafficking at Elegant Spa in Kensington, Maryland, led to the discovery of a prostitution ring operating out of multiple massage parlors in the area. The investigation began after tips were received about illegal activities at the spa. Through surveillance and undercover operations, detectives identified Chang Liu, 34 of Columbia, as the owner of the spa and several other massage parlors in Anne Arundel County and Laurel.

Liu was arrested last month along with Yinlian Wu, 50 of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on charges related to the case. Authorities suspect that there may be more victims who were employed by Liu and are urging anyone with information to contact the Montgomery County Police Vice and Intelligence Unit at 240-773-5958. Both Liu and Wu have been released on bail pending trial.
