Transavia, a subsidiary of Air France-KLM, has recently strengthened its presence in the Mediterranean market by expanding its base in Montpellier. The airline now serves three new destinations from Montpellier: Istanbul, Rabat, and Oran. With a total of 14 destinations served in nine countries, Montpellier has become the group’s platform for the Mediterranean region.

In response to the pandemic downturn, Transavia is focusing on increasing its capacity and aiming for an 80% occupancy rate this summer. In 2023, the airline transported 284,000 passengers from Montpellier with a 71% occupancy rate and they are targeting 340,000 tickets in 2024. The airline is also looking into expanding its services for the upcoming winter season.

Transavia and Montpellier airport are collaborating to boost the Montpellier-Paris-Orly line by offering competitive prices compared to the TGV train service. Additionally, the commissioning of line 14 of the Paris metro from Orly is expected to improve accessibility to the center of the capital and make air travel a more attractive option for passengers.

With these new services and routes, Transavia is poised to grow its operations in Montpellier and provide more options for travelers in the region.
