A tragic accident occurred in Devens early Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of a truck driver who crashed into a behavioral health center. The incident took place at 85 Patton Road, the location of TaraVista Behavioral Health Center, around 5:30 a.m. First responders found the truck on fire and discovered the unfortunate news that the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, had passed away when the blaze was extinguished. Fortunately, no one in the building was injured.

In a statement to WCVB, TaraVista’s CEO, Francis Sauvageau, reassured that all patients and staff are safe and accounted for, with no one in danger at any point. The hospital remains structurally sound and continues to provide care to its patients. At the time of the crash, TaraVista was at full capacity with 117 patients.

TaraVista is known for providing psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults primarily from Worcester and Middlesex counties as well as from across the state and southern New Hampshire. The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being investigated by the DA’s office.
